No-Laugh Comedy?!? BULLSHIT!

I'm no rocket scientist, nor an intellectual, sometimes I'm not very smart at all if you catch me on the right day. But since when did you have to be a fucking mensa member to like comedy?

I've been listening to stand-up comedy all my life, and watching it when
time allows. Comedy makes you laugh, chuckle, smirk, giggle,
chortle, grin, blush, guffaw, snort and snot drinks through your nose. The opposite of comedy tends to be drama or tragedy.
But a "no-laugh comedy" is simply life. Example, you're walking down the street, feeling good, then you trip on nothing. No one else is around to see it. Do you laugh? No. You look around, embarrassed that you can't lift your feet and walk properly and hope that no one else is there to laugh at you. That's a no-laugh comedy. Because if someone was there they'd be laughing their balls off!

I appreciate that you two try to lift the standard and try to fill our pea brains with more than crass humor that goes nowhere, but really, does comedy now have to be an elitist / members only situation? Can't comedy just be funny or humorous?

Pryor and Carlin were comedy greats. They came up together in the ranks as it were, and developed what most people know as "observational humor". They told the tales of their upbringing and environments and made statements about the BS rules of our society. Sometimes they were heavy handed with the point, even a bit
somber with their messages but they were always funny. Laugh Out Loud
funny! That's comedy. Even in the face of despair and
pain, there's something worth laughing at, something to make fun of in
the situation, a point with which most people relate. Because we can relate to those points we can relate
to each other, and laugh at ourselves and each other. Not in some mental state of awareness known only to yourself, but out loud!

Comedy can make you think, but it's supposed to make you laugh. I'm gonna keep laughing, out loud.
