No One Is Exempt...

Regardless of how much we strive to do what's right...
The amount of effort and energy we throw behind our jobs...
It does not matter whether our efforts were fruitful or not...
Your job, your work, your income, your way of living is not guaranteed.

After years of trying to turn this company into a a good business, my general manager, my friend, was fired.

He had flaws like anyone. There were times in which his opinion and methods were simply wrong and out of line. There were other times in which he'd go out of his way to make the workday better or show his appreciation to his co-workers. His ousting is not because he couldn't find a way for this business to make money, but because someone higher up decided that "the privileged one" should be in control, regardless of their ability to run a business.

My head and heart are heavy. This was an undeserved and unnecessary termination and I fear that it will not be the last.
