Apple Nerd Alert...

I've been using the iPhone 4s since it was announced. I skipped the 5, the 5s, the 5c, the 6, and the 6 Plus. During that time my little 4s had been towing the line but it's time as my primary smart device has come to an end! When Apple announced the new iPhones this year, I couldn't wait to preorder!

It was a Friday night, I didn't sleep well that night anyway so when I when I found myself awake at 12:01 am that Saturday, I was on my MBP immediately to place the order. Like many others, I discovered that the Apple website wasn't working for orders yet. I gave it a good 15 minutes then jumped on my iPad, opened up the Apple Store App and lickety-split, my order was placed... and the waiting begins.

After a rough and busy week at work, delivery day has finally arrived. I worked my butt off today, it  kept me from thinking about my new phone, which was supposed to have been waiting for me when I got home. As I walked from work to the train, I was starting to get pumped. When I transferred to the bus, a little smile was on my face. While walking the last block from the bus stop I was excited! Once I got home I got pissed. My pre-signed letter for delivery was still on my door. No little package from Apple. A crushing end to a busy work week. BUT...

After my initial letdown I decided to track the delivery, "OUT FOR DELIVERY. Delivery by end of day". WOOHOO! For the past hour I've been peeking outside, scanning the streets for the UPS driver. Is that it? Nope, just a big truck. Is that it? Nope, just another bus. What was that door closing? Oh, just a van full of people. Then I hear it... the screeching brakes of Big Brown. UPS is finally here!

I couldn't even wait for him to get out of the truck. I jumped up, and had my door open waiting for my little package of Apple technology. As he's walking up the sidewalk, he says "Yours is the last one today!". I let out a WOOHOO! Let's face it, Apple delivery day is the closest many adults get to Christmas morning. And no one wants to be forgotten or delayed on Christmas, let alone on Apple delivery day.

So here I sit with my unopened package of Apple tech. Waiting may be the hardest part, but the wait is over! Time to open my toys.

Happy Apple Christmas Everyone!
