Tsunami (death) Toll Jumps to Over 125,000...

"By Tomi Soetjipto and Dean Yates
BANDA ACEH, Indonesia (Reuters) - The death toll in the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster soared above 125,000 on Thursday as millions scrambled for food and clean water and rumors of new waves sent many fleeing inland in panic."

It has been said that this was the strongest earthquake ever in recorded history - 9.0 on the Richter Scale. With all of the power, all of the things that man can do, nothing short of a neuclear bomb compairs to the overall devistation of mother nature. The toll is 125,000 and rising...

If you happen to stumble upon my page, I ask you to help if you can. The many/various help organizations will probably accepting donations, clothes, food, etc... in your local areas. This is an event larger than ourselves. Who's to say that this couldn't have happened off the coast of Oregon, Florida, New York or California. Had something so tragic occured locally many of us wouldn't hesitate to lend a hand or give what we could.

We are closing upon another year. War, pain, poverty and selfishness are everywhere. It seems to me that we as humans need to watch after each other. To hell with political, racial, social, religious or sexual differences! Those "things" don't matter. At the core of every person on this planet is one simple truth: we are all humans. We all belong here on this planet and we should all give a damn! Whether it be your neighbor next door, one hungry man on your way to work or the thousands in need of help in India. We are not alone and we should be more respectful of each other and our world.
